Whats so good about a variable speed drive?
1. Generates less heat. A suction motor really gets hot when there is only a small volume of air being aspirated through it (imagine a 4 surgery motor with only one surgical tip being used), as there is more pressure (pressure means heat), less air going through the motor to cool it, and more electrical current going into the motor. Instead of working hard and getting hot, Turbo Smart simply slows down its speed. When other users start using the suction it speeds up, it’s that simple. 2. No high start current. When you start a suction motor with an amp-meter connected to it, you’ll see the dial jump off the scale, this is referred to as ‘start current’, which as a rule of thumb is about 7 -8 times higher than the motor’s rated current. Start current is what makes your lights dip when the electrical supply is being overloaded. And start current also means the electrical circuit is getting it’s heaviest load while starting The variable speed drive in Turbo Smart has no high start current
