Whats an IRB?
The IRB stands for Institutional Review Board for the Use of Human Subjects in Research. Any Institution that receives federal funding to conduct research with human participants, such as NPS, is required to establish an IRB to review all research that directly or indirectly involves human subjects, and to set forth institutional policy governing such research. Their major responsibility is to assess the risks and benefits of proposed research.
