What will Vidal write or publish next?
Vidal has confirmed that he will write yet another installment in his seven-book American Chronicles series of historical novels. This one, revolving around the Spanish-American War, would fit between Empire and Hollywood in the chronology of American history. Publisher’s Weekly reports that Vidal will write an “illustrated memoir” filled with photographs from his archives, many of them never before seen. Ann Schneider, a photo editor at Vanity Fair magazine, will collaborate with Vidal in selecting and arranging the photos for the book. It’s scheduled for publication in November 2009. According to a few September 2007 newspaper reports, Vidal is in the process of completing an unfinished play by his friend Tennessee Williams, who died almost a quarter of a century ago.
