Children’s Memorial Hospital, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Northwestern University and The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago co-sponsored a traffic study. The boundaries of the study were: Chicago Ave. on the north, Illinois St. on the south, Michigan Ave. on the west, and Lake Shore Drive on the east. In addition to the institutional growth described above, the study included 4,940 condo/rental units and 394 hotel rooms (primarily in south Streeterville), which are either under construction or approved. Based on the geographic boundaries defined, the study excluded 2,800+ new units on the edge of the study boundary from Michigan Avenue west to State Street and from Oak Street south to the Chicago River. The institutions have now been asked to extend the study north in Streeterville to include the area bounded by Oak Street on the north, Chicago Avenue on the south, Michigan Avenue on the west, and Lake Shore Drive on the east. The results of this extension to the study are not yet
