The 1987 book by Kirk Dooley (subtitled Tragedies and Triumphs of America’s First Family of Wrestling), now highly collectible, was a brief (approximately 125 pages) telling of the family’s story up to that point, concluding with Kerry’s motorcycle crash and Mike’s suicide. It was illustrated, as the title suggests, with a number of the family’s personal photographs, and was heavily advertised on WCCW telecasts in 1987-88 (the commercial can be seen at WCM’s YouTube channel). If you’re looking to acquire a copy, be forewarned that you may have to cough up a hefty chunk of change to do so, although prices can vary widely depending on seller and condition. Although some Amazon Marketplace Sellers have offered damaged copies for as low as $15.00 on occasion, the ones in very good or better condition generally go for anywhere from $50 to $200.
