What Unbelievable Monster Have I created??
Honey, you did your job. You did not create a monster. This is not your fault – this boy was obviously very messed up to begin with. Just because you fixed his gunshot wound does not mean you’re responsible for all those deaths – only he is. Lives are taken and given. Only God can do that. You did what you were meant to, and your job was to heal.
You did NOT create that monster. You used your professional judgment and gave the younger person priority. Presumably the older patient didn’t expire while you were busy elsewhere, right? I can’t see that you’ve done anything wrong, either knowingly or unknowingly. You’re in the clear, Doc. Oh, and “Good job.” Thank you for being a professional.
