What types of trees are growing in the park?
The Bosque: These are American yellowwoods (Cladrastis kentuckea), featuring a broad crown with fragrant spring blossoms and yellow fall color. Park Ave & 9th Ave: These are Valley Forge elms (Ulmus americana ‘Valley Forge’) a disease resistant variety of elm that will produce a tall, vase-shaped shade tree similar to those on the other Park Blocks. Yamhill St: These are Red maples (Acer rubrum) to match the trees along the MAX corridor. Taylor St: These are Cimmaron ashes (Fraxinus pennsylvanica ‘Cimzam’) a fast-growing, high-branching, pollution-tolerant variety of ash for this busy corridor.
