What type of nails do you use to install Hardiplank?

You can use standard 2.5 inch galvanized splitless siding nails. I use a gun, but it can be done by hand but you will have to pre-drill all your holes, or the hardiplank will crack and you will have problems starting the nails without them bending. You can not use screws.
