What type of moss is in the Polar Ice?
I’ve never heard of this. There may be moss UNDER the ice of the tundra, but I think its common sense that there can’t be any moss growing IN it. There may be spores of moss, there may be bacteria, but these will be dormant. The ice is probably very pure. It falls as snow from the sky, and gets compacted over time. So there are no minerals to feed even moss. Icebergs also appear strongly blue because the sunlight that penetrates them is filtered to a very extreme that can be seen in its crevasses and shadows.
