What training is required to be a Small Group Host?
We ask Small Group Hosts to participate in our Leadership Development Pathway which includes our basic three-hour Host Training 1. Beyond basic training we offer progressively more advanced Leader Workshops in Skills, Character, Health and PEACE. Additionally, we ask every small group Host to join us in an All-Church Host Gathering to be trained and motivated by special training and vision casting from members of out Leadership Team. All LifeGroup Hosts will be notified with dates and details about these sessions.

Beyond basic training we offer progressively more advanced Leader Workshops in Skills, Character, Health and PEACE. Additionally, twice a year in January and July we ask every small group Host to join us in an All-Church Host Gathering to be trained and motivated by nationally known speakers. In preparation for a small group Campaign, Group Host/leaders will take our one-time, 90 minute Basic Orientation for Group Leaders class approximately 3 weeks before it starts. And your Campaign Kit has a step-by-step leader manual. We also provide a brief audio walk through to listen to each week a couple days before your group meets. It’s like having a coach to help you along. If you continue on after a small group campaign as a LifeGroup leader, you will at that time take the one-time, two hour Basic Training for Group Leaders class. Beyond basic training we offer more advanced Leader training to build skills, character, and group/spiritual health through our quarterly LifeGroup Leadership Rallies. • What are the requirements to Host/lead a small group at Woodland?
