Your TCard is your University of Toronto student ID. It’s the identification you will be using all your University of Toronto career, so take good care of it. They’ll charge you $12 to replace it and that’s kind of a pain in the ass, so I recommend you avoid doing that. Your TCard does a lot of different things. It’s photo ID (which you’ll find useful outside of U of T, when it comes to getting student discounts anywhere they happen to be offered, but I wouldn’t try using it at a club), it’s your library card, it’s got an ID number on it you’ll use to register for things like the Career Center (and no, you can’t register for these things until you get your card) and it even has a magnetic storage thingie on it that allows you to charge it with photo-copying credits for the machines in the library and maybe some other stuff I’m not immediately aware of.
