What sort of training do the helicopter observers have to go through before joining the unit?
The observers are all serving police officers who all have to pass a series of stringent tests before they are selected for training. It takes a total of seven weeks to train an officer to become an air observer. After that they have to pass an examination every six months to ensure that they are performing at the highest levels.
