What sort of time commitment is involved?
Students should expect to have up to 15 actual class contact hours per week (more for Science, Engineering, Music, Psychology, Media Studies, Languages). These are spread out over the week from Monday to Friday (9.00am-6.00pm). In addition to time spent in lectures/tutorials, you will have to plan personal study and research time. Studying for a full-time degree is a full-time commitment! Current timetables can be viewed on http://registrar.nuim.ie/. Please note that these timetables do not include tutorials.
This varies greatly depending on what size of a role the actor has in the show. However, all actor’s schedules are based on their individual availability. We understand that everyone has other obligations such as family, work, school, and other various projects. We strive hard to work around these commitments. While we are indeed shooting throughout the entire year, a particular actor’s role may only require him or her to work for as little as only one day, a week, a month, and so on. We have a core group of actors and then stock performers that we use for guest spots. Guest spots work well for those that don’t have much time to shoot.
