What similar social network <--> content aggregators and data stores (semantic/linked) are useful in learning content discovery?
Long-term sustainability was discussed by several projects. One example is ArXiv, a large e-print archive that has been in use for almost two decades. It is hosted by Cornell University Library, but Cornell is a minor user (<0.5%). While this is a large, important community, Cornell questions why they should support it alone (cost is > $400K/yr). They are using analytics about sources of data and use to identify major uses and requesting support from them. While they are successful in getting some external support, their long term plans and governance are still being developed. The various DuraSpace software products (DSpace, Fedora, DuraCloud) are moving from being projects (grant funded) to community source activities with external committers. The core team has all moved from being employed by a project grantee organization to being employed directly by DuraSpace. One of their measures of success is to have the release manager be a non DuraSpace employee, but this is not finalized. W
