What makes poker different from other “gambling” games?
The amount of decision making and strategy that can be employed sets it apart from most casino games which are virtually or completely all luck. The biggest difference, however, is that poker is not played against the “house”. In all other casino games, there is a house edge, a percentile amount that the house is favored to win. Poker is played against the other players at the table without house involvement, eliminating the house edge. The casino does not care whether you win or lose, as they make the same amount of money either way.
