What makes a PC operating system freeze?

It could be a number of things! A virus, corruption in the operating system or registry files. Sometimes this can happen from not shutting the computer down properly, or from shutting it down when it’s in the middle of doing a Windows update. It could be over-heating or a faulty RAM chip. It could also be a failing hard drive. When no logical reason can be reached to what is causing it, it can be best to wipe the hard drive & reinstall the operating system, but I should remind you to back your data up prior to doing that. Good luck!
