It depends on the project. The HAO Multicultural strategy book describes four effective projects that require varying amounts of funding. The first project, The Story Project, is an attempt to assist an intergenerational revitalization of cultural communities. This project will bring together cultural communities, secondary schools, and seniors homes to reconnect the generations. Dialogue between the groups will focus on integration of culture, their view of death and dying, and their wishes regarding how the community should handle death and dying. This project requires no funding unless if the community members involve decide to publish and distribute copies of the stories. The Online-Training and Exchange Project happens through a partnership with the Institute of Church Leadership (ICL).
