What languages will be available?
All of the messages in Basic Content are available in English, Chinese, Korean, Spanish and Japanese except the “Witness Lee Archives” portion, which is only available in English. Depending on when they were given, older conferences and trainings in both the “Basic Content” section and the “Additional Content” section will only be available in English. We will be adding additional content in multiple languages as time goes on.
The file for each message will contain five languages: English, Chinese, Spanish, Korean and Japanese. In addition to this, we will also provide a download only file that contains English/Chinese, English/Spanish, English/Korean, and English/Japanese stereo for churches who want to play 2 languages at the same time. The appropriate language can be selected by playing the message in Windows Media Player, then clicking “Play” on the upper menu bar. This will display a drop down menu; click on “Audio and Language Tracks”, and select your desired language (note: if the “Audio and Language Tracks” option is not available in the drop down menu, you do not have Windows Media Player Series 9). If you use the archive file with the stereo audio tracks, English will always be on the left channel and the translation on the right channel. The English/Language mix may be adjusted by clicking on View / Enhancements / Graphic Equalizer then shifting the balance bar.
The standard civics questions and answers (100 items) as well as the 65/20 civics questions and answers (20 items) will be available in Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Tagalog. Q. How soon will the translations be available and how will these translations be distributed? A: The Spanish and Chinese translations will be available online at www.uscis.gov by July 15, 2008. The Vietnamese and Tagalog translations will be available online at www.uscis.gov by September 1, 2008.
