What kind of growth can be expected at Fort Carson?
Current estimates show that more than 28,000 troops are expected to be stationed at Fort Carson by 2013, up from just over 12,000 in 2006. The Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments (PPACG) is currently working on Phase Two of the Growth Plan to update these troop estimates and develop more accurate projections about the numbers of family members that will accompany them.
Current estimates show approximately 26,000 are expected to be stationed at Fort Carson by 2013, up from 12,600 in 2006. PPACG released the draft Phase II of the Growth Plan for public comment in April 2010.
