What kind of financial support do the international students get?
The most common form is the funding from your university. University funding is usually for research based and science and engineering programs. Our experience says that MBA programs have less funding than engineering majors, but with computer knowledge, MBA students get assistantship from engineering schools. The most common forms of assistantships are tuition waivers, various types of assistantships (TA/RA/GA), also fellowships. 1) Tuition Waiver With the tuition waiver, the student need not have to pay the tuition fees for the university. A tuition waiver is usually awarded in conjunction with a scholarship or teaching/research assistantship (TA/ RA). A full tuition waiver or partial tuition waiver may be awarded. 2) Scholarships Scholarships are awards given based on academic excellence of the student. Students may also receive scholarships based on other factors like ethnic background/ field of study/ financial need. The award money varies in their amounts and the number of years.
