What kind of assistance is provided?
Given the immense needs so often found in situations of conflict and crisis, assistance to refugees and IDPs frequently takes a variety of forms. Most humanitarian assistance, however, falls within one of the following sectors:Water and Sanitation Activities: Ensuring adequate water supplies and sanitation services is a critical component of humanitarian assistance. Insufficient amounts of clean drinking water and poor sanitation services may result in the outbreak of diseases such as cholera and malaria, endangering public health in refugee and IDP populations.
