Work-Study is a form of financial aid awarded to students directly from the Office of Financial Aid. It is University subsidized employment, where a portion of your working wage will be paid for as part of your financial aid package. This eases the financial burden for potential employers, making it easier for work-study students to find jobs on campus. If you are wondering whether or not you have work-study, check with the Financial Aid Office at 734.763.6600 or financial.aid@umich.

Work-Study is a type of financial aid that allows students to work and earn money (usually at an on-campus office or community service related off-campus agency) while still remaining flexible with their class schedule. Monies eared can be exempt from taxes if the student qualifies and will not negatively impact your next years financial aid eligibility. The jobs in the Work-Study Program are REAL JOBS and students are expected to act in an appropriate manner and fulfill their job duties as they would in any form of outside employment.
