What is Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)?
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is the oldest complete system of diagnosis and treatment gained from over 4,000 years of observation, investigation and clinical experience. TCM has evolved as an empirical science and its theories and treatments have been repeatedly in use and refined over this long period of time. Almost a third of the world population has drawn on the efficacy and timeworn wisdom of T.C.M.
Traditional Chinese Medicine defines the standard theories, systems, and medical modalities that have been developed over thousands of years and that are currently practiced in China and many other countries around the world. TCM is a comprehensive and holistic system that includes the use of acupuncture, moxabustion, Chinese herbs, Tui Na (body work), Qi Gong (exercise and meditation), and diet therapy.
TCM has been practised in China for more than three thousand years. It uses unique theories to direct its clinical application effectively. It includes Chinese Herbal medicine ( CHM ), acupuncture, moxibustion, diseases prevention, personal hygiene, diet therapy, Qigong, Taiji and health preserving etc. It has same branches like internal medicine, surgary … … etc. as modern western medicine.
