What is the Tasmanian Heritage Council?
The Council is a body of 15 men and women appointed under the Heritage Act who represent a wide variety of community interests, property owners, farmers and graziers, conservation interests and areas of expertise such as history, architecture, archaeology, engineering and tourism. They are appointed by the Minister of Primary Industries, Water and Environment. The Council is responsible for the administration of the Act and the establishment of the Register.
