What is the Supplier Code of Conduct?
The Supplier Code of Conduct is a set of minimum performance standards that all suppliers must meet with respect to basic human rights and labour practices. It ensures workers who make or deliver City products and services are treated fairly according to local or internationally accepted standards. Under the policy, The City will strive to have contracts with suppliers who can meet the conditions of the Supplier Code of Conduct. Together, the SEEP Policy and Supplier Code of Conduct send a signal to the marketplace that The City of Calgary expects its suppliers to uphold some basic minimum standard, and that where price, quality and service are comparable, The City will recognize suppliers that demonstrate sustainability benefits of their product or service offerings.
