There are three main variables that affect pregnancy success rate after embryo transfer: conception rate post-breeding; embryo recovery rate; and pregnancy success of transferred embryo. Conception rate is dependent on the kind of semen utilized (fresh-cooled or frozen), the stallion’s fertility, and the breeding management of the mare, amongst others. Young fertile mares can have embryo recovery rates of around 70-80% per cycle while older infertile mares can have rates closer to 10-30%. Once the embryo is recovered, one can expect pregnancy success rate of approximately 80% at 12 days, with about a 10% rate of pregnancy loss following that time.
[Section Updated: 9/97] There are so many studies, so many treatment symptoms, and so many cause and effect conditions that it we can’t begin to identify them all here. It was reported in 1996, that over 85% of the patients who have followed the protocol have permanently stopped the successful treatment after 16-18 shots, with no recurrence of the symptoms. Of the seemingly failures in the generally observed population, 10% will feel better than they ever have since their allergies started, but for some reason require an annual “booster” to maintain a symptom free status. Some patients may admit they have not followed the guidelines and rules for one reason or another. The remaining 5% are true failures for which no results, or insignificant results, have been seen. Studies are still in progress and perhaps will help to iden
