What is the Statement of Intention?
The Statement of Intention is a declaration by a trainee that he/she intends to leave Canada upon completion of training. The Ministry of Health requires this signed and dated document in order to approve a request for temporary employment within Ontario. You will be asked to provide this document to either the Department or the Postgraduate Medical Office once you have been accepted into a position. The Statement of Intention must be dated within six months of the start date of your training or else it will not be accepted.
