What is the role of a Probation Officer?
A. A Probation Officer (P.O.) supervises youngsters on probation. A P.O. is responsible to meet with the probationer and his or her parents or guardian to explain and sign the rules of probation. Each P.O. investigates and assesses the youth for risk of re-offending along with mental health, substance abuse and psychosocial needs through services within the Court and through community referral.
