What is the required commitment in terms of time away from work?
Registration/enrolment is carried out on a Thursday at the beginning of the first semester. For the first two weeks of each semester, attendance is required all day on Friday and Saturday to facilitate the block teaching of one of the courses. From the second week of each semester classes run from 2pm to 9pm every Wednesday. In order that students are given sufficient time to commit to their dissertation, the fourth semester comprises four teaching blocks (one for each course). These require attendance at four separate sessions which run from a Wednesday to a Friday inclusive. These 3-day sessions will take place approximately every 3-4 weeks. Blocks of teaching other than those outlined above may be arranged from time to time as appropriate. In such circumstances students will be given as much advance notice as possible. MBA students are required to attend a two-day induction which will normally take place during the week prior to commencement of classes on a Wednesday from 2.00 pm until 9.00 pm and Thursday from 9.00 am until 5.00 pm. The total number of contact hours over the two calendar years is approximately 500, although these are spread across a number of elements of the programme including induction, personal/professional development, the study trip abroad and dissertation supervision, as well as formal seminars.Blocks of teaching other than those outlined above may be arranged from time to time as appropriate. In such circumstances students will be given as much advance notice as possible.
