What is the relation ship between soul,mind and the heart of a men?
The soul is “housed” in the brain and nervous system. Living electrical impulses in the brain are the soul of a human. The cardiovascular system has living cells that support the bodies tissues. The Bible calls the soul ” the inward man”, and the physical body, “the outward man”. As for the heart, and cardiovascular system. It doesn’t contain the soul, it contains living cells in the blood. …”do not eat of the blood thereof, that has the life thereof”… This statement from god means not to consume blood from either humans, or beasts. But to …”pour out the blood upon the ground”… Blood carries nutrients, but blood also carries diseases; never to be ingested. When God talks of …”I know what is in your hearts”… , he is talking about the human mind’s mentality, character of that person’s soul; the very core of an individual.
The Bible teaches that people are tripartite [1 Thessalonians 5:23; Hebrews 4:12]: consisting of a body, soul and spirit [Isaiah 10:18; Matthew 10:28; Luke1:46,47]. The soul is made up of the mind, emotions and the will [Samuel 5:8; Job 6:7; Psalm 86:4; 139:14; Song of Solomon 1:7; 2 Lamentations 3:20; 1 Corinthians 14:14]. When Adam fell his spirit became deadened, insulated from God and lost its functions toward God [Ephesians 2:1], and its conscience (God-centered morality and ethics) became defiled [Hebrews 10:22]. The word ‘heart’ is frequently used in Scripture but often does not refer to its anatomical structure in the body, nor as a distinct component of man. It is composed of all the parts of the soul (mind emotions and will) including a primary part of the spirit – the conscience.
