What is the RAM? How does it relate to restructuring?
An essential part of the restructuring process is the development and implementation of a Resource allocation model (RAM). Transparent resource allocation is a primary strategic goal which will encourage high performance quality, reward excellence and further foster sharing. The RAM is designed to reward efficiency, effectiveness and best practice. Specifically the RAM will support planned growth short and long-term planning, accountability, flexibility, rational budgeting, the timely allocation of funds and open discussion. Rollout of the RAM commenced in September 2006 and will be implemented incrementally over the next three years. Its introduction supports restructuring as devolution of accountability will facilitate future planning at individual College and University level.
