What is the Queens College GLOBE initiative?
• Queens College has become a GLOBE training partner, the only one in southern New York State. • The College has undertaken the responsibility of informing New York City, Nassau, Suffolk, and southern Westchester teachers about GLOBE and training them in GLOBE scientific protocols and data entry/retrieval procedures. • GLOBE training will eventually be offered to all public, parochial, and private schools in the metropolitan area. • To provide the continuing support after training that has made GLOBE successful elsewhere, the College will: • Create a GLOBE office on campus to respond to inquiries and coordinate recruitment, training, and local support efforts. • Open a GLOBE Hotline to respond to requests for help from teachers— accessible by both telephone and the Internet. • Distribute a GLOBE newsletter to all public, parochial, and private schools in the New York metropolitan area • Offer GLOBE workshops to provide scientific content assistance to teachers, schools, and school dist
