What is the purpose of Risk Assessments?
Numerous European Directives referring to health and safety at work talk about the Risk Assessment, but even if a legal requirement regarding the necessity of performing a Risk Assessment would not exist, this would be a good practice because it allows the implementation of efficient measures in a view of ensuring the safety and protecting the employees. The process of preventing accidents start with reducing and, if possible, complete elimination of potential risks, and continues by implementing the general protection measures, both collectively and individually.
