What is the purpose of Building Regulations?
The Building Regulations 2000 (as amended) are made under the powers provided by the Building Act 1984 and exist to make sure the health and safety of people in and around buildings. They also provide for the conservation of energy and make sure access to and certain facilities in premises, are suitable for people with disabilities or other mobility problems.
