A bail bond serves as a guarantee that the arrested person will return to all his or her court dates. The bond remains active and in good standing as along as the arrested person attends all their court dates and follows the court’s instructions. Only if the arrested person fails to appear in court or fails to follow any court instructions is the bond at risk of loss, revocation, or forfeiture.
