What is the Psychology Club?
The Psychology Club was established in 2004 to serve the Purchase College undergraduate Psychology community. The goal of the Club is to support Psych students through informative workshops, special outings and group meetings. Members are encouraged to share their experiences and ideas with each other in order to facilitate their progress through a demanding program. Our Agenda: · Provide a meeting place for people interested in psychology to discuss various aspects of the field · Provide educational opportunities to supplement coursework via guest speakers · Prepare students for success at Purchase College and in graduate studies via peer mentoring and special workshops · Provide an outlet for students to share concerns regarding coursework and student life · Provide exposure to the field of psychology by coordinating trips to local conferences and seminars Who is eligible to join? The Psychology Club is open to any Purchase College student who is interested in psychology, regardless
The Psychology Club is a growing student organization here at Pine Manor College. Some of our main goals as a club are to assist and contribute to the students of PMC. At our meetings every other week we discuss our ideas and thoughts about many things including: organizing interesting lectures, our own internships or courses, fundraising, and also hosting fun campus activities. In the past couple of years the Psychology Club has hosted movie nights featuring psychologically based films called ?Psych Nights?. We have also run an annual fundraiser ?The Personality Gift Test? and used the funds to buy the GRE practice CDROM, which is now available in the Career Office. As a student organization we have sponsored exciting guest speakers and are planning new events for this year. There are many benefits to being a member of the Psychology Club including: advice and assistance from peers, resume experience, writing for our newsletter and much more.
