If you are a student, tell the teacher. If you are a teacher and you yourself do not know, you can ask the custodian or the principal. The custodian should know the proper procedure because they are trained in cleaning up spilled chemicals and glass according to WHMIS safety standards. Wow Glen really came down on my answer! But I’m a high school teacher and that is the procedure we have to follow according to board regulations. Every year we have to attend a training session on WHMIS health and safety. And as a professional I would never allow a child to pick up broken glass and spilled chemicals.
