What is the Patients Bill of Rights?
1. Patients have the right to considerate and respectful care. 2. Patients have the right to know by name the physician responsible for coordinating their care. The patient also has the right to know the name of the person responsible for the procedures and/or treatment. 3. Patients have the right to refuse treatment to the extent permitted by law. 4. Patients have the right to every consideration of their privacy concerning their own medical care program. Case discussion, consultation, examination, and treatment are confidential and are conducted discreetly. Those not directly involved in the patient’s care need the permission of the patient to be present. 5.
