What is the NPHC?
The NPHC or National Pan-Hellenic Council was organized in May 1930 at Howard Univeristy in Washington, D.C. as a governing body for African-American greek letter organizations. There are nine organizations that make up the NPHC, they are commonly reffered to as the “Divine Nine.” These nine organizations include: Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority and Iota Phi Theta Fraternity.
