What is the interview like? What should I know before being interviewed?
You should have looked over this website and FAQ thoroughly so that you have a good idea of what the program entails. If you have questions about the program you should have them prepared. The interview will take 15-30 minutes and is an important element in determining your suitability for this program. What traits and experience are you looking for? The ideal participant is adaptable, energetic, flexible, likes working with young students, relishes this opportunity to experience a foreign culture, and can “go with the flow.” Experience living abroad (in any country) and an interest in learning foreign languages are helpful. By contrast, the people who might have difficulty adapting to China are those who can only be comfortable in a highly structured and predictable environment or who have a heightened sense of personal entitlement and individual prerogative.
