what is the garden waste collection scheme?
The garden waste scheme was introduced in 2003 to help reduce the amount of biodegradable waste that was sent to landfill and make the service more sustainable. The service has been very successful composting approximately 6500 tonnes of green garden waste per year into mulches and other garden products. Garden waste is collected every two weeks, and is disposed locally where it is composted into a commercially available product.
