What is the Frontier League?
The Frontier League is independent professional minor league baseball. The teams have no affiliation with any Major League Baseball organization. The league was established in 1993 with eight teams from around the Midwest playing in high school, college and municipal parks. Over the past 15 years the league has experienced tremendous growth in talent level and attendance. With the league’s popularity on the rise, larger markets with new stadiums have joined the fold. The addition of Avon in 2009 will bring the total to 12 teams with more cities and ownership groups making bids to join the league for the 2010 season and beyond. For fans, the Frontier League is about fun, family entertainment at an affordable price. For players, the Frontier League offers them the opportunity to chase their big league dreams.
