The 2553 Form, known as the Subchapter S election, is required to be filed with the IRS to get S-Corporation status for purposes of federal taxation. Filing this Form with the IRS is used convert a C-Corporation into a S-Corporation. WHAT IS A REGISTERED AGENT? Most states require a registered agent. A registered agent is responsible for receiving any legal documentation on behalf of the corporation.
