0

The Program is a partnership between a local community college and Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold, Inc. (FCX) designed to train technicians for employment in the mining industry. Beginning in August 2006, the college will offer three new occupational certificate programs: Diesel Technician, Electrical and Instrumentation (E & I) Technician, and Industrial Plant Technician. These programs were developed jointly by a local community college instructors and FCX technicians. Students who complete the programs should have the necessary skills to qualify for entry-level employment in these technical areas.
