What is the EU RoHS directive? Who does it affect?
RoHS is the acronym for Restriction of Hazardous Substances. The RoHS regulations are relevant to manufacturers selling a wide range of electrical and electronic products into the European Union. It restricts the use of six hazardous materials (lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, PBBs or PBDEs), thereby protecting human health and the environment.All applicable products sold in the EU market after July 1, 2006 must be EU RoHS compliant.
