What is the employers responsibility?
The employer deducts the specified amount each pay period and sends it to the child support agencys State Disbursement Unit (or another address when appropriate), which then forwards the payment to the custodial party. All employers must honor an income-withholding order/notice for child support from any state. Income-withholding orders/notices are valid throughout the country and U.S. territories.
