Aerobics is a form of exercise that is meant to sustain a high heart-rate and strengthen your heart and lungs.  This generally includes constant, sustained movement.  Jane Fonda is one of the more well-known practitioners of aerobics.

Yoga is a general term that encompasses many specific yoga practices.  Yoga is a series of postures and movements, with an intense focus on specialized breathing.  While your body may reach aerobic heart-rate levels, the focus is on acheiving control of the mind and body and on paying close attention to a specific manner of inhaling and exhaling.

In Yoga one may often be holding a pose for an extended period of time, while clearing one’s mind and focusing on breathing.  In aerobics one is often engaged in constant movement.

Both Yoga and Aerobics are good .

Yoga is another form of exercise that helps you preserve a youthful look and a well toned body. The principle behind yoga, however, is different. Here the exercises consist of slow movements to execute poses that are held for a time before release. There is a great degree of emphasis on breathing, for each exercise requires the co-ordination between the inhalation and exhalation of breath with the movement.

Aerobic exercises include the day to day activities, which have to be performed regularly and systematically in order to achieve best result in body physique and fitness. If they are followed regularly, then the body remains fresh and active. They are specially practiced in cardiovascular problems. These include the exercises, in which the body is lifted and moved with some velocity. These are commonly practiced to burn out calories. In these, flexibility and muscular strength is gained.

Yoga focuses first on the health of the spine. The spinal column houses the centre of the nervous system, which plays an important part in the working of the human machine. The most important work of the Yoga postures are in strengthening and purifying the nervous system, particularly the spinal cord and nerve ganglia. The cells of the nervous system are toned and their pathways polished so that their activity is enhanced. Every cell of every organ and muscle is invigorated and supplied with fresh blood while being drained efficiently of waste products. There is much less possibility of toxic buildup, either on the cellular level or in the organs themselves. By promoting the health of the organs, including the glands of the immune system, the bodys ability to resist disease is enhanced. Normal exercises and aerobics emphasize stress on the muscles combined with quick harsh movements. Yoga by contrast avoids such movements, which tend to trigger lactic acid production in muscle fibres,
