What is the difference between searching for library materials and searching databases?
Searching the catalog allows you to find the location and availability of books and other materials in your local college library or in other community college libraries throughout Florida. Once you’ve found an item you’re interested in, write down or print the call number and locate the item on the library shelf. If an item is not available, you can use LINCCWeb to request the item from the library. You can also e-mail and download your search results. Searching electronic databases gives you immediate online access to articles, journals, and newspapers. Many databases include the full text of articles that can be read online and printed, downloaded, e-mailed, or saved. You can access electronic databases by clicking Go to Databases at the top left portion of the screen (youll need to enter your Borrower ID and PIN). Specific database help is provided on the database search screens.
