What is the difference between a Machine Weft and a Hand-Tied Weft?
There are some key differences between the two weft types, as outlined below: • Machine Weft: This hair is one continuous weft that can be cut. It is a pproximately 0.5 to 1.5 meters (width of hair depends on the length of hair – the shorter the hair, the longer the weft). The weft itself is slightly thicker than the hand-tied wefts. It is normal for the weft to be cut into smaller pieces, although it is recommended that the ends are tied or bonding glue applied to the edges to avoid shedding. • Hand Weft . These wefts have been pre-cut to approximately 10 inch pieces and have been sewn by hand to make the smallest wefting possible. Pieces should not be cut or they might unravel (if they are cut, they should be carefully tied). The small size of the hand tied weft is great for weaving. Hand tied hair can be cut from the weft to use for fusions. In terms of pricing, Hand wefts are $5.00 more per piece than Machine wefts.
