What is the difference between a graduate certificate and a professional certificate?
Graduate certificates are graduate-level programs that issue graduate-level credits for courses completed. Graduate certificate courses are within a master’s degree curriculum and can be used to matriculate later into the master’s degree program that corresponds to the graduate certificate. Professional certificates are not for credit. These courses can be taken to further a student’s knowledge or provide educational enrichment in a certain area of study. Courses taken within a professional certificate program generally are not transferrable into a master’s degree program for credit.
